Well, here we are at the end of another garden season. It was time… the raspberries had shriveled up, and the sunflowers had dried up and looked… well, they looked creepy. Sadie wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the tomatoes, but there’s going to be a freeze next weekend and I needed to get the dirty work done while the weather was nice. We had one last visit in the comfy chairs, enjoyed the blue skies, and then got down to business.
After a little quality time on the tractor, and a layer of horse poo compost dusted on top for the winter, it was over. Much too soon, I might add. This year had a short growing season because the spring was cold and we couldn’t plant on time, but it’s been nice having extended summer temps this October to enjoy the sitting area a little longer than normal. My garden gave me a sunflower oasis that the dogs and I enjoyed everyday, and it was all worth it. 🌻 Goodbye, garden, until next year!
