Plants are popping in this hot weather! Does anyone else feel like it’s a full time job to care for a garden when there’s a heat wave? Early to rise and water. Stay up late to water. Check at midday to see what’s wilting and water. Keeping an eye on Sadie so she doesn’t dig up all the carrots. It’s crazy busy around here!
The other day, we had a gusty wind kick up and we found some things in disarray in the garden that evening. A table turned upside down; a fence down around the carrots (decided to take it down as it was pretty wobbly – Sadie was happy); broken sunflower stalks here and there, and the cucumber vines flipped over. I’m not convinced it was wind damage – it may have been wildlife. Maybe we should put a security camera in the garden to see what’s going on? Yesss… that would make for some good reality TV. 😄
