My husband snapped this rare pic of me taking a breather from all the endless yardwork that our 10 acres provides. This area of our front yard has become a “project” ever since the huge fir tree that used to provide shade to the front of the house was lost in a wind storm several years ago. I was interviewed on the news about that, because it had fallen on our house, and our brand new (at the time) truck. Good thing I had the tractor to drag it off! Miraculously, there was no bad damage, just a gutter that needed to be replaced, and a paint job on the hood of the truck.
Since then, this spot has become an area of overgrown groundcover and seedlings popping up everywhere. It was a wild, bushy mess, but I have slowly been clearing it away, and this is what it looks like now! I even dragged some bricks from the garden and lined the edge for a rustic effect.
A recent addition is the old, blue wheelbarrow. That was in a junk pile left behind by former homeowners when we moved in 9 years ago. Isn’t it perfect!? The bricks were found on the property too. I love repurposing the materials we’ve found around here! 🙃
I’m looking for ideas on what to plant in the wheelbarrow, besides faux flowers! 😆 What would you put in it? Drop your ideas below!
