Nature is amazing! She grows the most vibrant roses, with huge petals of color, and yet they come with a price. It seems the larger the flower, the larger the thorns that come with them. Reaching in to cut these beauties can result in a finger prick like you wouldn’t believe! YEOUCH!!
It occurred to me, these flowers theoretically represent life in general. The larger the thorns, the harder we work to go around, under or over them. But in doing so – in taking the risk – we achieve the ultimate pay off. The reward is splendid, yet it doesn’t last forever. It will soon wither and wilt, however diligent we are in nourishing it. So we learn to appreciate the beauty and come to accept it for what truly is: a gift and a blessing for this moment in time.
